Energy and climate

Back in 2019, we began installing a photovoltaic system on the company building at our location in Dortmund.

The system generated about 95 MWh per year and helped us partially cover our energy needs sustainably. In 2023, we continued to invest in the expansion of the photovoltaic system and were able to more than triple our energy generation. This means that we are currently generating 300 MWh of electricity per year, which is equivalent to our total energy needs! Thanks to these investments in renewable energies, we are able to save approximately 117 tons of CO2 every year, which is equivalent to 8800 newly planted trees*.

In this way, we are also contributing to the fight against climate change.

As part of our commitment to a sustainable future, we not only rely on renewable energy in our production and office buildings but also in the area of mobility. We are proud to be continuously converting our fleet to hybrid or electric vehicles, using green electricity as an energy source. The electricity for the vehicles also comes directly from our company's own photovoltaic system.

Heating is one of the main causes of global CO2 emissions. This is why we switched our heating system to efficient and environmentally friendly as well as CO2-neutral green gas at the end of 2020.

The energy efficiency of our building is an important component in achieving our goals. We have already been able to achieve positive effects through a variety of measures.

This includes, among other things, the complete conversion to LEDs, the waste heat recovery from compressors as well as constant measures in the area of building renovation.

Our goal is to reduce our transport emissions by using more sustainable transport solutions for our global goods transport.
